Despite the damp weather, spirits were high at this year’s Sun-n-Fun as Lancair announced the Evolution, their latest and most advanced kitplane to date.
- With a Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop carving the air at the nose, the Evolution can travel in excess of 385 mph, and climbs at 4,000 fpm (to put that in perspective, you’d be able to reach summit of Mt. Everest in less than seven-and-a-half minutes, sans Sherpas). Watch the engine runup and the first flight as well…
