Pegasus PH200J
ZOMG! This new jet copter from Pegasus is mondo cool! No gears. No tail rotor. No transmission. Even claims of reduced noise! Like designs I’ve been doodling on paper for years, only real…and flying! Look forward to seeing more about Pegasus Helicopters when they demonstrate their prototype at this year’s AirVenture! Can’t wait!
Lancair Evolves
Despite the damp weather, spirits were high at this year’s Sun-n-Fun as Lancair announced the Evolution, their latest and most advanced kitplane to date.
With a Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop carving the air at the nose, the Evolution can travel in excess of 385 mph, and climbs at 4,000 fpm (to put that in perspective, you’d be able to reach summit of Mt. Everest in less than seven-and-a-half minutes, sans Sherpas). Watch the engine runup and the first flight as well…
